Day 01 – Chilaw

Munneswaram Temple – Munneswaram Temple is the Place where the King Rama prayed to Shiva after committing the worst crime named as Brahmahasti. God Shiva blessed Lord Rama and advised him to install and praying four lingams at 5 places to get rid of dosham. One of the important Ramayana tour sites in Sri Lanka. 

Manavari Temple – Manavari Temple is the first place where Lord Rama installed and prayed the Siva lingam.  At present this lingam at Manavari temple is named as Ramalingam

  • Transfer to Anuradhapura (3 Hrs)
  • Dinner & overnight stay in Anuradhapura
Day 02 – Trincomalee

  • Breakfast at the Hotel
  • Check out and visit Anuradhapura Ancient City (UNESCO World Heritage) (2 Hrs)
  • Transfer to Trincomalee
  • Visit Thirukoneswaram Temple Trincomalee / Lover’s Leap Trincomalee
  • Sightseeing city tour in Trincomalee including other attractions in Trincomalee
  • Dinner & overnight stay in Trincomalee hotel
  • Anuradhapura – UNESCO World Heritage site and cradle of glorious Sinhalese Buddhist civilization. The pride of place in Anuradhapura was taken by the ancient stupas and ancient reservoirs. 
  • Thirukoneswaram Kovil  – Trincomalee believed to be built by sage Agasthyar as per the instructions of Lord Shiva who was impressed by the devotion of King Ravana. This place has the uniqueness of the lord building a temple for his devotee as a reward for his devotion.
Day 03 – Kandy

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Check-out and explore Trincomalee attractions further
  • Transfer to Kandy
  • Enroot visit Dambulla Cave Temple
  • Enroot visit spice garden Matale / Lunch
  • Reach Kandy / Visit Tooth Relic Temple / Kandy sightseeing city tour
  • Dinner & overnight stay in Kandy hotel

Kandy – An exotic city, the Hill Capital and last stronghold of the Sinhala Kings which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site encircled by hills, with a tranquil lake in its center / Sacred Tooth Relic Temple / Royal Botanical Garden.

Day 04 – Kandy

This is our leisure day during Sri Lanka Ramayana Tour Packages of 8 days and we stay 2 nights in Kandy with some leisure hours.
Recommend to spend at least 1 hour in Royal Botanic Gardens Kandy

Day 05 – Nuwara Eliya

  • Breakfast at the Hotel
  • Transfer to Nuwara Eliya (2 Hrs)
  • Enroot, Ramboda visit Sri Bhaktha Hanuman Temple
  • Sightseeing at Nuwara Eliya
  • Dinner & overnight stay in Nuwara Eliya
  • Sri Bhaktha Hanuman Temple – Believed that Hanuman was searching for Sita Devi from a place called “Ravana Goda” close to this Bhakta Hanuman Temple. Key Ramayana site in Sri Lanka.
Day 06 – Katharagama

  • Breakfast at the Hotel.
  • 6th Day of Sri Lanka Ramayana tour itinerary
  • Visit Sita Amman Temple and Askoka Vatika (Now this is converted as Hakgala Botnic Gardens) in Nuwara Eliya
  • Transfer to Kataragama (4 Hrs)
  • Enroot visit Divurumpola Buddhist Temple / Ravana Water Falls / Ravana Caves (This is not possible for senior citizens)
  • Reach Kataragama and Visit Kataragama Temple.
  • Dinner & overnight in Kataragama

Kataragama – Kataragama temple is dedicated to the God Skanda

Day 07 – Colombo

  • Breakfast at the Hotel and then leave for Colombo
  • Visit Ussangoda Ramayana Site (Ussangoda National Park)  
  • Reach Galle and visit Rumassala Sanjeevani mountain 
  • Visit Galle Dutch Fort (UNESCO World Heritage) 
  • Transfer to Colombo 
  • Dinner & Overnight Stay in Colombo
Day 08 – Colombo

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Visit Panchamuga Anjaneyar Temple & Kelaniya Vibhishana Temple (Buddhist Temple)
  • Drop at the Airport for late evening flight.

Panchamuga Anjaneyar Temple – First Anjaneyar Temple in Sri Lanka which dedicated to Lord Hanuman in his Panchamuga form, meaning five faces. Panchamuga Anjaneyar Temple in Colombo is one of important Ramayana related Hindu Temple in Colombo.Kelaniya Vibhishana Temple (Buddhist Temple) – Ramayana states that after the death of King Ravana, King Vibhishana was crowned by Lakshmana. So Kelaniya

Vibhishana Temple is the place which had been ruled by Vibhishana. This is last Ramayana related we visit during this 8 days Ramayana Tour in Sri Lanka.
