Meal Plan : Half Board

Day 01Airport → Pinnawala → Kandy

  • Upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our Sri Discovery Travels representative (Arrival is expected in the morning).
  • Begin your scenic journey towards Kandy, the hill capital of Sri Lanka.
  • En route, visit the world-renowned Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, home to rescued and orphaned elephants. Witness these gentle giants bathing and roaming freely along the riverbank — a heartwarming experience for all ages.
  • Arrive in Kandy and check into your hotel.
  • In the evening, enjoy a vibrant traditional, Cultural Show, showcasing traditional Kandyan drumming, fire performances, and classical dance.
  • Dinner and Overnight stay at a 3–4-star hotel in Kandy.
Day 02Kandy → Nuwara Eliya

  • Early morning visit to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, one of the most revered Buddhist sites in the world, which houses the sacred tooth relic of Lord Buddha.
  • Return to the hotel for breakfast.
  • Later, visit a Spice Garden in Kandy to discover Sri Lanka’s ancient spice heritage and traditional Ayurvedic remedies.
  • Proceed towards the picturesque hill station of Nuwara Eliya, often referred to as “Little England,” known for its cool climate, colonial charm, and lush tea plantations.
  • Dinner and Overnight stay at a 3–4-star hotel in Nuwara Eliya.
Day 03Nuwara Eliya → Ella

  • After breakfast, visit Pedro Tea Estate to witness the fascinating process behind the world-famous Ceylon Tea, followed by a refreshing tea tasting session.
  • Visit Shanthipura, the highest village in Sri Lanka, and enjoy panoramic views from Eagle’s View Point.
  • Spend relaxing moments near Gregory Lake, where you may enjoy a peaceful boat ride or a leisurely walk by the lake.
  • Continue your journey to Ella, a charming mountain village surrounded by breathtaking landscapes.
  • Dinner and Overnight stay at a 3–4-star hotel in Ella.
Day 04Ella → Udawalawe

  • After breakfast, visit the iconic Nine Arches Bridge, a colonial-era architectural marvel set amidst lush green tea plantations.
  • You may choose one of the following optional experiences:
    • A Traditional Sri Lankan Cooking Experience at Ella Green Grow Cooking Class
    • The Ravana Odyssey – an open-deck double-decker sightseeing experience exploring Ella’s scenic highlights
  • Make a stop at the beautiful Ravana Falls, cascading gracefully along the roadside.
  • Proceed to Udawalawe for your wildlife adventure.
  • Dinner and Overnight stay at a 3–4-star hotel in Udawalawe.
Day 05Udawalawe → Galle → Hikkaduwa

  • Embark on an early morning jeep safari at Udawalawe National Park, famous for its large elephant population, water buffalo, crocodiles, and diverse birdlife.
  • Return to the hotel for breakfast.
  • After breakfast, travel towards Sri Lanka’s southern coast.
  • En route, explore the historic Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site built by the Portuguese and later fortified by the Dutch. Walk along its cobblestone streets and admire the iconic Galle Lighthouse overlooking the Indian Ocean.
  • Continue to the coastal paradise of Hikkaduwa.
  • Dinner and Overnight stay at a 3–4-star hotel in Hikkaduwa.
Day 06 – Hikkaduwa

  • After breakfast, you may choose one or two of the following excursions:
    • Glass-bottom boat ride in Hikkaduwa to view the colorful coral reefs
    • Madu River Eco Safari – explore mangroves, islands, and local wildlife
    • Whale Watching in Mirissa (seasonal activity, subject to weather conditions)
  • Spend the rest of the day soaking up the tropical coastal vibes.
  • Dinner and Overnight stay at a 3–4-star hotel in Hikkaduwa.
Day 07 – Hikkaduwa → Colombo

  • After breakfast, proceed to Colombo, the vibrant commercial capital of Sri Lanka.
    • Glass-bottom boat ride in Hikkaduwa to view the colorful coral reefs
    • Madu River Eco Safari – explore mangroves, islands, and local wildlife
    • Whale Watching in Mirissa (seasonal activity, subject to weather conditions)
  • Enjoy a memorable lunch experience at the Lotus Tower, offering panoramic views of the city skyline.
  • Embark on a Colombo City Tour including key landmarks and enjoy shopping at House of Fashions, ODEL, Beverly Street and One Galle Face Mall.
  • In the evening, unwind with a relaxing stroll at Galle Face Green and later, visit Port City Colombo, Sri Lanka’s newest waterfront development, showcasing modern architecture and scenic ocean views.
  • Dinner and Overnight stay at a 3–4-star hotel in Colombo.
Day 08 – Colombo → Airport
  • After breakfast, transfer to Bandaranaike International Airport for departure.
